How many of you have ever laughed so hard you started snorting? It seems like it is always at the wrong time too. At an awards ceremony, a lady began talking to her husband at the next table about something that had happened that day. The conversation was not going well and they began to get louder. This was going on while the many awardees were being recognized. The lady started to turn fire engine red in the face and she had had enough from her husband. She threw her napkin down on the table only to have it hit the end of her fork. The fork flew into the air flinging food particles over the table. When the fork rested it was firmly rooted in her friends piece of cake. The table was silent for a moment and then erupted into laughter. At the same time the laughter erupted an award was given for the most respectful person in the company. Guess who was being honored. The lady who got mad, thew her napkin, and had the fork flying.
She never heard her name being called but was surprised to hear the MC telling her to come to the front. The table was laughing so hard because they thought the MC was going to point out her behavior to the crowd. To her surprise when she received the award for the most respectful, she started snorting in the microphone. The crowd burst into laughter. Can you relate? Let me know.

Oh my gosh....you have reminded me of some very embarassing moments! "Snorting" at the wrong moment can be humiliating. However, in the fit of laughter, I think all really understand. It appears much more adverse the the person doing the "snorting" than to others. Kind of like that big zit that you feel is about 10 feet in diameter, but others hardly notice!
We have a snorter in our office and sometimes it is funny, but sometimes we hide from embarrassment. She tries not to snort, which in turn makes her honk and snort.
